Hello Tamia Talkers, lovers, and friends! It’s so good to write you on this final day of 2024.
Exactly one year ago, I apprehensively posted my first ever Tamia Talks entry on Substack and anxiously shared the link on Instagram and in text messages to friends. At the time, I felt relatively unsure of what my take on this platform would look like and grappled with my festering insecurities about dropping my thoughts and ideas onto the internet (without an editor!).
However, I found a fulfilling sense of creative release in being able to write, podcast, and experiment every week. It was empowering to be vulnerable and open about my likes, interests and experiences and such a gift to know that some of you resonated with those thoughts and feelings.
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been in holiday vacation mode, taking some time away from “the stack” to go to the Bahamas with my family, finishing my end-of-year projects for work, and ~manifesting~ and preparing for the new year. I’ve made some vision boards and to-do lists, booked a few flights, and jotted down a handful of creative ideas to jumpstart my January.
Even with all of that done, I didn’t want to walk away from this year without sharing expressing my gratitude for YOU, all of my lovely subscribers, who read my essays, rewinds, recountings of the year. You’ve made me feel seen, supported, understood through it all.
To end the year, I’m concluding with one of my favorite things of all time, a list. This one includes 100 things that I found deep appreciation and gratitude for this year. I hope you can take some time to do the same.
For now, that’s all I have to share. I very much have a December Rewind nearly ready for posting, but I watched “A Complete Unknown” on Sunday and read two books between Monday and today, so I need to copy paste my thoughts from the notes app.
I hope that 2025 is a year full of peace and prosperity for all of you. Thank you for being such a fun part of my year <3
