Hello, dearest readers! Today’s Tamia Talks is brought to you from Chicago where I’ll staying for the week to cover the Democratic National Convention! It is also inspired by hours spent listening to “Diet Pepsi” by Addison Rae.

I hope you are so well. If you had any doubts about it, you’re going to conquer this week. You are so wonderful, so brave, so capable of tackling all of the work you have to do! If we’re tone setting for the week, the vibes are capable, confident and cognizant of what is happening in the world around us. • haphazardly applying a single layer of nail polish before a big event

• sharing your hidden gifts with the world

• sweating (with grace and beauty)

• driving with the windows down to diet pepsi by addison rae

• crying during olympics commercials

• soft-setting your fall activity calendar

• shoulder pads and a crossbody bag

• percy jackson (again)

• a walk on the beach

• moments of gratitude

• if frank ocean did a cover of “I might say something stupid” by charli xcx

• hopping in the taxi when the apps say your wait time is going to be forever and a day

Out

• energy drinks

• being too busy to call your family

• wearing heels (i’m not zendaya, I shan’t pretend)

• self-deprecation

• lack of focus and videos that are under a minute long (we must combat brain rot)

• not taking time to assess your needs

• overpacking for a trip and impulsive consumption

• the feeling of anxiety bubbling in your chest when there’s a long line behind you in the airplane but you have to pull your luggage from the overhead bin

• not sending that person you want to hang out with a text and asking to hang out

• being rhythmically challenged

• hostility and misplaced anger

• uncomfortable shoes (comeback era)

• not appreciating the dwindling days of summer and our impending lurch into a dark winter (yes, I skipped a season)
