Hello Tamia Talkers! Good morning and Happy Sunday!
I return to you today from the haze of post-election coverage exhaustion and two weekends of crocheting, reading, and taking long, much overdue naps.
The days leading up to November 5th felt like a month’s worth of running around town, attending rallies, chatting with voters, making TikToks, and the like.
Now that the votes have been counted and the results are in, I’ve attempted to be intentional about putting away the phone and limiting unnecessary screen time to give my eyes and brain a break from the happenings of the digital world.
Because we will have tons of political coverage to chat about in the weeks, months and years to come, right now, I am feeling ready to slide back into your inbox with some lighthearted ins and outs for your daily scroll.
Unrelatedly, the five days left in my “Wicked” countdown are fueling my life force at the moment. Feeling upset that I won’t get to see “March of the Witch Hunters” until 2025 but thrilled to see my girls <3

clearing out your inbox
immunity shots and media literacy
a good hat and shoes with a pointed-toe
random conversations with kind strangers
subtle foreshadowing and podcasts that record their ads with incredibly poor audio quality so that you can know when to skip
post-marathon bliss (everyone is so kind and radiating with joy post-26 miles, maybe 50% of the population can do one and we’ll have some peace)
going with the flow
using the black and white color filter on your phone
taking a video of yourself singing and having a good laugh
something that can offer the same delight and joy of drinking a smoothie without chilling the bones (recommendations welcome)
seated concerts (so mellow)
pretending to smoke a cigarette in a way that is really just meditative breathing and theatre
rereading your old journals like they’re fanfiction (so well done, brilliant work)
out
crop top in the winter (i’m simply too cold, I can’t pretend like this is cute enough to bring me peace and satisfaction)
going out in public and coughing and hacking into THE PALM OF YOUR HAND?! (decorum, we need it)
dissociating from the realities of the harsh world in which we live
giving up (can seem so appealing, but persistence is sexy)
gift cards that expire (what do you mean the money expired? where did it go?!)
frostbite and low iron levels
traffic and overcrowded trains (where are we all going?!)
forcing myself to stay awake to read (the eyes must be shut)
uncomfortable shoes and harsh lighting
feeling pressured to spend money (girl! your wallet is calling!)
giving people the b of the d
chaotic evil and darkness at 4 p.m
