unlearning shame and chasing your passion w/ jordan gonsalves

to celebrate pride month, jordan and I talk all about his iHeartMedia podcast "But We Loved"

Happy Sunday, Tamia Talkers!

I am back with another episode of Tamia Talks to wrap up the month.

This week, I am joined by Jordan Gonsalves, the host of iHeartMedia’s “But We Loved” podcast and a Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism alum.

“But We Loved,” a show that Jordan pitched to iHeart while attending school at Columbia, excavates the most critical moments of LGBTQ history through the eyes of queer elders. The episodes explore the stories of participants in the Stonewall Riots, Jean Carlomusto, an Emmy-nominated documentarian who documented the AIDS crisis for the activist group ACT UP, and YouTube creators like Ingrid Nilsen.

Before developing “But We Loved,” Jordan hosted a popular podcast called “Unshaming” where guests who once hid themselves due to shame shared their stories of resilience with listeners.

Jordan was a lovely guest to have on this week’s episode, and I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did. Find him online @ jor_gonsalves and listen to “But We Loved” here or wherever you get your podcasts.

Happy Pride!
